Achilles issues

Achilles tendonitis issues and repair pathways.

Recent investigation of human tissue and cells from positional tendons such as the rotator cuff has clarified the importance of inflammation in the development and progression of tendon disease. These mechanisms remain poorly understood in disease of energy-storing tendons such as the Achilles tendon. Using tissue biopsies from patients, a team led by Prof. Keith Baar investigated if inflammation is a feature of Achilles tendinopathy and rupture. New and exciting research led by Prof. Baar Davies California has found that collagen formation through supplementation of gelatin or collegen peptides and absorbic acid-vitamin C has huge potential in growth of this tissue taken pre or post injury. Has the modern diet omitted the typical offal and organ tissues rich in these particular amino acids profiles ? These were consumed in preference to lean meats meat which may have had a very positive outcome on tendon ligament and bone health. Taken as collegen-gelatin prior or post training has shown to improve bone, cartilage, tendon and ligament health and prevent injuries or aid in accelerated return to play.

The area of research promises to improve performance and minimize injury aiding any active individual or player for performance.

Resistance exercise in combination with collagen peptide supplementation results in a more pronounced increase in BM, FFM, and muscle strength than RET alone.
