As an ultra distance cyclist, competing anywhere from 2hrs, but specialising up to and over 24hrs, fueling is critical for me to complete events, and can be the difference between success and failure.
What I like about the GloNua products is they help encourage the fat burning process , that is essential in long events. A truly efficient long distance athlete will be relying on large portions of burning fat before and continuing when they start to burn carbs. So to be able to fuel with a high fat / low carb source is attractive.
I have been using both MCT powder and Exogenous Ketones. The MCT powder I'd add to an afternoon protein shake, which was great as its 'natural' (no) taste so you dont even notice it! It was good to give me an energy boost towards evening workouts and is something I will use ahead of hard workouts. Also on the day's of low carb workouts, where the training stimulus was to encourage the body to burn fat for longer , I'd take both the MCT powder and exogenous ketones as part of a pre workout, high protein / low carb shake to help sustain energy through the session. I can't give a '%' or 'number' as such on how much it gave, but it seemed to stave off the 'bonk' longer. The rational being the superior ketones and further available - easy to digest - Fat's would help this process. This last part is important for me, general consensus will tell you a lean body still has >125k cals within it - BUT the 'availability' for the body to metabolise in a workout is limited, these provide that in a way the liver metabolises to produce energy easily - so help that adaptation process.
